FAQs
Do you have to be a musician to play the handpan?
No. The handpan is a very intuitive instrument. The notes are tuned to each other, which means even beginners can create beautiful melodies right from the start.
440 or 432 Hertz—what's the difference?
The difference lies in the frequency of the notes.
A 440 Hz handpan meets international standards: it has a bright, resonant tone, making it perfect for playing with other musicians or on stage.
A 432 Hz handpan produces a softer, rounder sound, often described as more enveloping, and is highly prized for meditation, yoga, or sound healing. Neither is superior to the other; it all depends on how you plan to use it.
