During nitriding, the surface is hardened in a high-temperature process and protected against corrosion. Tonally, that means a darker fundamental, a focused decay and a surface that stands up to daily playing.

The motif is worked in, not printed on. It does not affect the sound. No two engravings are exactly identical.
